In La Papaya, we will visit coffee farms surrounded by vibrant vegetation. Here, the entire organic coffee process becomes a sensory experience: from walking among the plantations to witnessing the washing, drying, roasting and grinding, each step connects deeply with the care and tradition that transform the beans into a cup full of unique aromas and flavors.
Views, coffee and wildlife at El Infiernillo
– Harmony between flavor and landscape
At another coffee farm, the experience continues with a cup of artisanal coffee prepared with dedication. From this privileged viewpoint, the panoramic vistas of El Infiernillo capture the majesty of the Andean condor’s habitat. This encounter between the flavor of coffee and the landscape reminds us of the harmony between nature and the traditions that have endured in this land.
Authentic flavors in Chayazapa
– The soul of the land in every dish
The tour takes us to Chayazapa, a warmer area rich in the flavors of the region. At a local farm, the host farmer welcomes us with a refreshing natural beverage, followed by a picnic lunch made with fresh, organic produce. Each bite connects the present with Saraguro’s agricultural legacy, highlighting the authenticity of the land in every dish.
Sugar cane and tropical fruits
– Experience the sweet life
To close the day, we explore the delicious derivatives of sugar cane, from the fresh juice known as guarapo to mapanagua, honey, panela and artisanal aguardiente, each with its own distinctive character. Finally, we tour a farm filled with tropical fruits such as mangos, avocados, oranges and tangerines, a vibrant display of the bounty of these lands.

This journey full of flavors and unique landscapes brings us back to Saraguro for a traditional dinner accompanied by Andean music, the perfect ending to an inspirational day.
Day 2
Saraguro – Gera – Baños del Inca – Ñamarin – Saraguro
Immerse yourself in the authenticity of Gera
– Connecting with ancestral roots
The day begins with a visit to the Indigenous community of Gera, a place where time seems to stand still. We will walk along trails surrounded by native vegetation and learn about traditional crops and ancient constructions that reflect the harmonious connection between ancestral practices and the natural environment. The architecture and the living language of this community invite us to experience the richness of a cultural heritage that is still alive.
Agave and unforgettable views
– Land as a source of livelihood and tradition
On our hike, we will learn about the agave plantations and their use in the creation of “pulcre”, a traditional fermented beverage. We will enjoy a natural viewpoint where the Andean landscape unfolds in all its splendor. There, a local family warmly welcomes us and offers a tasting of guajango, a drink made from agave that symbolizes the connection with the earth and its fruits.
The mystical Inca Baths
– Connection with nature and the past
On the way back to Saraguro, we will stop at the emblematic Baños del Inca, a place full of history and spirituality. Its cave, waterfall, and lush vegetation offer a perfect space to reflect and feel the deep relationship between nature and ancient Andean cultures. This site reminds us of the importance of valuing the sacred places that are part of our identity.
The art of the loom and the taste of Pinshi
– Weaving stories and savoring tradition
Our next stop is in the Ñamarín Indigenous community, where we will learn the art ofweaving with a backstrap loom, an ancestral practice that connects generations. We will participate in the process, from combing and spinning to warping and weaving, using natural dyed yarn. At noon, we will share a typical lunch with the emblematic dish “Pinshi”, which combines the flavors and history of the region in every bite.
Closing the day with culture and flavor
– Reflections over a cup of coffee
To end this immersive day, we will return to Saraguro to explore local handicraft stores, taking with us a unique souvenir of this experience. At Tupay, located in the central plaza, we will enjoy a cup of local coffee while reflecting on the cultural, natural and personal connections this day has left us with. This closing invites us to appreciate the richness of Saraguro and the hospitality of its people.

Cancellation Policy
- To confirm your reservation, a deposit of 50% of the total cost is required.
- Payment in full must be made at least 45 days prior to the start date of the trip.
- Cancellations made more than 45 days prior to the trip start date are eligible for a full refund of the deposit, less a 10% administrative fee.
- Cancellations made 45 days or less prior to travel are non-refundable due to operational and logistical commitments.
- We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance that covers cancellations or unforeseen events to protect your investment.
Visas and Passports
VISAS:
No visa is required for citizens of most countries, including the United States, Canada and Europe, to enter Ecuador for a stay of up to 90 consecutive days (three months). We recommend that you check the specific requirements for your country before traveling.
PASSPORTS:
You will need a valid passport with at least 6 months validity before its expiration date. At the time of your reservation, we will ask you for the expiration date of your passport.
Your passport must also have a minimum of two blank pages for entry and exit stamps for Ecuador. If your itinerary includes visits to other countries, make sure you have additional pages for those portions of your trip.
If you need a new or renewed passport, please do so well in advance, as processing times can vary considerably from country to country.
We recommend that you carry with you a color photocopy of the first two pages of your passport. Keep these copies in a safe place so that you will have proof of identification in case of loss.
Check with your country’s immigration authorities or local embassy for updated information on entry requirements for Ecuador.
Health and Safety
The health and safety of our travelers is our priority. Ecuador is an incredibly diverse and welcoming destination, but it is important to keep in mind some recommendations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience during your visit:
Health
Vaccinations: No mandatory vaccinations are required to enter Ecuador. However, if you plan to visit Amazonian areas, yellow fever vaccine and malaria prophylactic medication are recommended. Consult your doctor or a travel health center before your trip.
Altitude: Some regions, such as Quito and the Andes, are at high altitude. Take time to adapt, stay hydrated and avoid strenuous physical activity for the first 24-48 hours.
Water and food: Consume bottled water and avoid drinking tap water. Opt for cooked foods and peeled fruits or vegetables to prevent stomach upset.
Climate and clothing: Ecuador has varied climates, from the cold of the Andes to the heat of the Amazon. Bring adequate clothing, sunscreen, insect repellent and a raincoat.
Hiking and outdoor activities: Always follow the instructions of local guides, especially on hikes or jungle activities. Wear appropriate footwear and stay on marked trails.
Personal Safety
Belongings: Keep your belongings safe and avoid carrying visible valuables in public places. Use a secure backpack or purse and keep your passport and money in a discreet place.
Transportation: Trust certified tour operators and avoid using informal cabs. We will provide safe transportation during your itinerary.
Travel insurance: It is mandatory to have travel insurance to cover medical emergencies, evacuation and any unforeseen event.
Emergencies
In case of emergency, our team will be available to assist you at all times. We will provide you with local contact numbers and guides who will be with you during every stage of the trip. Ecuador has medical services in all major cities and access to hospitals in case of need.
